The Village of Exton

Exton is a village in the county of Hampshire, UK. It is located two miles north east of Droxford and five miles north east of Bishops Waltham, on the South Downs way, near the source of the river Meon and with views over Old Winchester Hill.

The village, originally called East Seaxnature in 940, then became the property of the Priory of St. Swithin in Winchester, recorded as being held by the Bishop in 1806.

A walk along Shoe Lane takes you past pictuesque cottages, large and small, and in the summer a beautiful flower meadow. Visit the Grade II listed Church of St Peter & St Paul at the end of the lane and carry on into Church Lane lined with Beech and Sycamore trees. The perfect stroll before or after lunch or dinner at the Shoe.
